    PCI dualhead

    justa quickie - I am in the position of putting a bid in for duall monitor systems for my dept but need a dualhead solution that works with win2k

    I gather matrox is stillthe only provider who does dualhead with different resolution under 2000 but I need a PCI version as our desktops have no agp slots. They look nice and have pretty TFT monitors but thats it. I can only find the g450 having a PCI version - does the P series or 550 have a PCI version?

          cheers, I am presuming the 450 can handle two tft's or a mixture?

              There's a dual-dvi version of the PCI G450 if you need it...

                      the G450 PCI 32MB can handle one DFP and one VGA or two VGAs.

                          We've mentioned this before. There is a dual-dvi PCI G450, according to ex-SalesSoup - the thing is, it's an MMS model, and therefore probably quite expensive.

                              our flat panels are dell ones and have a normal dsub connector would they count towards the two tft's or not?

                                  if they have standard 15-pin d-sub connectors, you don't need DVI connectors on the card. the G450 PCI will ship with an adapter that converts the DVI plug into a d-sub plug, allowing you to attach both panels to the two VGA (d-sub) connectors on the board.

                                          so there is no such thing as a G450 PCI dual dvi card right? I have looked everywhere and there isnt even a mention of it anywhere at all. This forum is the first place I ever heard of that idea even.
