Parhelia or P750 (ParheliaLX) or perhaps Parhelia8x?

- Supports SCART

what's 'SCART' supposed to mean here? SCART-RGB? I mean, every card that supports S-Video or Composite supports SCART, since that's just the socket used to hook it up to tv. With it explicitly being mentioned here, there might be hope for SCART-RGB support???

If so, does that mean that SCART-RGB driver support also will be added to all other ParheliaLX-based products?

I really don't know the technical details concerning SCART, but I'm pretty sure it's referring to SCART-RGB, as the Matrox Tech Support Forum (in the FAQs) shows the pinouts for SCART-RGB. I couldn't tell you whether SCART-RGB is supported on all P-Series products.

Performance card, low cost card, MMS card, nexgen card (same gen card - depends on the cycle).

For example:

WRT to performance card, although it may not be gaming card, it has to keep up with Quadros, fireGLs and Wildcats in order to compete in pro and CAD markets.

Matrox has enterd the professional 3D maket, and if they want to be able to compete there they need a preformance part, and from spring 2004 they will also need PCI Express on their cards.

what do you think, how many of the listed features will require additional e-mail requests by your customers for getting them enabled ?

I think they want to phase out the G450/550. The P650 has now reached a price low enough to eat into the g550 sales. I guess a 10-15% price cut will do the trick nicely -and there goes the G550. The G450LX can be had for about 60-70€ but I don't think M wants to sell them anymore (I doubt they make much money out of it as the part is pretty much obsolete).

The P650 looks like a good replacement for the G450 driving the MMS series...
