    G400, Win98, desktop all black?

I wanted to check if the slightly burry picture I get at 1024x768 85 Hz was being caused by my monitor (or possibly the cheap looking integrated VGA cable it uses) not matching my Radeon 8500's output, so I uninstalled all the ATI drivers and put my G400 in. Worked fine with the default VGA driver, but when I installed the proper Win98 drivers all I get when it boots is a black 800x600 screen with a mouse cursor (does't crash or anything, just all black.) Ran Matrox's diagnostic disk and it said everything was working. Anyone else had something like this happen?

Good idea, too bad the i815 chipset won't go over 64 megs.
