    G550 flickering screen problem

    Hi,
I am using G550 with DVI output on a 17" LCD. The resolution is 1280x1024. When viewing screen with single colors (e.g. grey, blue, etc.), I can see the screen flickering from bottom up. Anyone knows what's the problem?

    Thanks.

try changing the refresh rate to values between 60-70 Hz and see if that makes a difference.

I cannot change the refresh rates. All I can do is "optimize" it under Windows ME. According to my LCD, the frequency is FH: 64 kHz, FV: 60Hz.

Does it do it on the analogue connection???
If it does try another video card or LCD otherwise if the parts are warrented it could be rma time.

Try another video card. This sounds suspiciously like a defective panel backlight.

You're seeing a beat frequency between the lcd panel and the backlights. Its a characteristic of lcds that happens at specific backgrounds and certain brightness levels, but it should be pretty hard to see. If its annoying, rma the panel.
