HL/TFC and G400 performance prob.

I recently replaced my TNT with a vanilla G400 32mb and am experiencing lag stalls on internet games of TFC. This problem was not present with the TNT. Any suggestions would help. Tried both D3D and OpenGL. I'm ready to throw back in my TNT it's so bad.

(Celeron 450, Abit BH6, 128mb, Drv. 5.25, SB Live, 512kbps ADSL)
