Lockups with Half-Life using G400.

My PC locks up solidly after displaying the "Loading" screen with Freeman on it. I am running a PIII-500 with DX 7.0 and the 5.3 drivers. HL is set for OGL. Not much luck with the D3D setting either. Latest version of HL and latest sound card drivers.

I have nearly the same setup and mine runs fine. I have an ABIT BX6R2, PIII 500 and 128 Meg, G400 regular. What motherboard do you have?? Use powerstrip and make sure 2x and bus mastering are running fine with no problems. Try at lower resolutions, 600x800.

a friend of mine had the same problem. if you ad "-noip 0" in the shortcut it might help. that makes HL not to use TCP/IP. The strange thing is that it helps in SP even...
besides, you dont have any drivers that are wrong or so?

try forcing agp x 1 mine would freeze when i loaded it until did this now it works great!god bless the turbo gl!!
