    Benchmark on Quake2

    Is it possible to run a benchmark on Quake2?
    P2-400
    128Mb SDRAM
    8.4Gb hd
    G400 16M OEM not tweaked
    Tekram P6B40-A4X mobo
    PD 5.41
    Turbo GL

    Go to the console (~ key) and type "timedemo 1". Exit and wait for the demo to play, when it's finished go to the console again and you can see the average fps. Don't forget to type 'timedemo 0' before you start to play again. You can also start a demo directly but I forgot how.

      Typically, in Quake2, you disable sound first, although you don't have to. At the console, enter the following commands:

      s_initsound 0
      snd_restart
      timedemo 1
      map demo1.dm2

      The first two commands disable sound, the third tell Quake to run as fast as possible, and the fourth triggers demo1 at the console.
