    Anyone tried Daikatana

Daikatana is finally out, and I am going to buy it. Has anyone tried it with their G400 and found any problems with the game?

The only problem I found was that the game itself was terrible. You can fight millions of the same uninspired monster(robotic insects and amphibians???) in a fairly lame level. yay.
Hang on to your receipt unless you think a relativley nice weather system is worth $40.

After all the work they've put in this game, can it realy be this bad? I don't care if the gfx look outdated, there has to something good about it(in some way)

nope, nothing. the enemies are extremely repetitive and the level design sucks. The game looks like theyre trying to copy the look and feel of Halflife, but they fall short. Halflife actually succeeded at surprising the player around every corner, plus it had better visuals

I concurr with everything said. I never played the game, but the demo had me laughing for days. From the carnival sounds to the waaaaay to easy 'puzzles', I couldn't believe it took 5 years to build that turd of a game.

Big thumbs down. Companies that produce games like that shouldn't be in business...

            Hi yall,
Just wanna let you guys know that I agree with everything said. Daikatana is the worst shooter I've seen so far, although it's "suppose" to look good, I think even the worst shooter such as Mortyr was better than Daikatana...I mean I am being serious, Daikatana took 5 years to make...and supposedly to be an Awesome game (4 years ago) this game is just way too outdated for now...

and for ppl who thinks there are good things about this game...there aren't any...you start the game in Green colored surroundings...EVERYTHING IS GREEN!!...it looks like a game ran on those 10 year old green monitors...ewww....also, music sucked, sound sucked, graphics are green, gameplay sucked, even the god damn intro sucked...it's a LONG LONG BAD intro!...I'd rather have an Awesome short intro like UT or Q3...etc...

A good game can't be a good game without a good intro...hope yall agree

The soap-opera surrounding the development and release of this game is probably more interesting than the game itself:

                  http://www.gamespot.com/features/btg...ana/index.html

Warning, though, it's 36 pages long, but I read it all. Really curious about how something so stinky gets released.

                    Hey Zapruder,

just change the your system settings in Windowsxx under the menue "Ländereinstellungen" from "German" to "UK" or "US" and reboot your computer.
Then run the demo, then it´ll work.

                    Good luck

The game is awful, the engine is terrible, it´s completely uninspired. Don´t buy it.
                      It isn´t worth copying, either.
                      The frontend´s good, though.

I'd rather buy a second copy of UT than to spend the $40 on that POS, Uda thought they would have atleast made the demo good to draw in some unsuspecting gamers
