    Half-Life in Win2000/Linux?

I've been trying to find out if Half-Life will run under Windows 2000 - I believe I saw mention of a patch on Blue's but I haven't seen it since and I don't know if it was a Half-Life patch or a Windows one.

And I may as well ask if anybody knows if there are any plans for a Linux version (whether from Valve or other). A friend at our LAN games refuses to play Half-Life just because it don't run on his (Linux) machine - causing the rest of us to do without (and, incidentally I've got 2 systems so he'd be playing on my 2nd sys - a Win2k box).

    Any help welcome,

    Paul.

The game itself should run well under Win2000, although whether your video card's OGL drivers will be good enough is another question.

There is only a Linux dedicated server of Half-Life, with no client planned as far as I know.
