Counter-Strike G400MAXFPS Cap???

Ok, lastnight while playing CS I was maxing out at 72FPS, so someone told me to type in "fps_max 100", or something like that. I did, and it worked great. But then I noticed it started maxing out at 99.9FPS in some areas. Is there a way to make it go higher, or to shut off that cap?

First of all, what purpose do you have to do more than 100fps in any game?

Secondly, here is your answer taken from tweak3d.net

"fps_max XXX - This is the new all-in-one framerate limiter CVAR for the new Half-Life. This affects LAN, Internet and Single player play modes. Due to the fact that setting this high will no longer create lag, I'd suggest that users set this to its maximum value of 100.
This could be changed to a lower setting if the user wishes to reduce CPU load for some reason(such as running a dedicated server and client on the same machine). "
