Pardon my ignorance but what's an LPB?????

I stuck with a 56K modem and a crappy phone line that only lets me connect at 26,400.

The irony is that I live in a state with two National Weapons Labs, numerous High tech Military installations and don't even have access to cable or DSL. Sometimes I really wonder if New Mexico is really part of the U.S.

US West offers home service for over $120/month when the states surrounding us get it for about $30-40/month!!! Why the **** do we always get ripped off down here......LOL

Maybe its time somebody hosts a HPB site. I'd love to know about some Q3A HPB sites that are a few hops away from my Silicon Valley home. Still struggling with a v.90 modem and crappy AT&T GlobalNet.

Paul, I feel your frustration. I'm in the same boat as you -- stuck on a 56K modem that only connects at 28.8 (or less). Except instead of New Mexico, I live in San Jose, CA. The heart of Silicon Valley, I live just a few miles from Intel, AMD, 3com, Cisco, etc. and still have no cable nor DSL access in my neighborhood.

Misery loves company, I'll see you on the UT server where we can supply the LPBs with plenty of frag bait.
