    UT Z-buffer problem FINALLY fixed

the beta d3drv.dll epic released yesterday did the trick

4.25 just caused massive display corruption, and the beta d3ddrv.dll they released almost directly after the 4.25 release had the z-buffer problem in it. With the d3ddrv.dll they released the 5th of august, I have good performance (can't say that of 4.20), and no more z-buffer problem!!!! I AM HAPPY!

well... maybe I will come to the MGI server some time, since everything works fine again

Elemental: There is a link @ www.voodooextreme.com. Be advised this is a beta, but does seem to improve D3D rendering on a G400.

By the way: I suggest that people who are registered for half a year, or perhaps one year, should automaticly become Murcers, although they don't have 100posts!

Ahh! So that's what you need to become a MURCer. Look's like I'm almost there...
All I need to do is talk crap a few more times and I can break free from the chrysalis of being a mini-MURCer...

Hey what's wrong with Voodoo Extreme?
I was constantly being dropped. I barely got the file.

                    hi all

heh.., take a look at Earth border line "ctf-FACE map", there are still some z-buffer clipping errors. Yes, mostly it`s fixed. Then turn on the "detail textures". This setting causes horrible texture flashing on the floor in all UT maps. Next, in the "Ethernal caves.map" there are some visibility problems with red or blue flag at certain distances.

As dZeus I use too the same beta D3Ddrv.dll (217088 B) released 5.8.2000. No performance problems a no terrible HDD trashing compared to the UTpatch425 and no z-buffer bugs compared to the beta D3Ddrv.dll (212 992 B) released directly after UTpatch425.

                          John:

I enabled the detail textures, and noticed no big huge z-buffer corruptions (like those mentioned by you)...

maybe there is some UT/Powerdesk setting that's different from my pc which causes this?
