Turbo GL and 9x 604 drivers

Please forgive my ignorance on this, but I've been using Windows 2000 for a while and have got out of touch with the 9x drivers.

The Matrox website states that in order to use the current version of TurboGL, you have to use any 5.5 version of the display drivers.

Is this actually true? If I have the latest drivers installed (6.04.029) will TurboGL work or am I going to have to use the older drivers?

    TIA

It doesn´t harm to try, though.

Matrox says TurboGL is not for 6.x drivers, but there are reports that it works in some games.

Why do you feel the need to use TurboGL anyway? The ICD included in the drivers is very good, it even works better in my system. In Quake 3, for instance, TurboGL is only 1-2 fps faster and it causes an unexplained hard drive thrashing... the image quality is the same.

It's not for me. If it was, I would just do it and see what happens.

It's so I can give the best information to someone else.

I don't think they really play any games that are supported by TurboGL, but I thought I'd find out incase.

Thanks for the help, I'll them not to bother with it.
