How to run Alice on G400's

You have to use MTSTUtil to set OpenGL to 'Optimize for accuracy'. Then, you have to copy the turboGL opengl32.dll file into the folder with alice.exe. The game runs fine then, but the movies at the beginning don't play.

Thanks, but I got the demo to work. Maybe someone else will find a use for these files. You can check the other thread about it. Was the demo choppy in some areas for you?

Choppy? Umpf... it's beyond choppy (1 fps or less) at the point where the girl falls into the pit, before the part with the rolling ball. And there's a choppy room too, where you get a potion from some sort of device.

It doesn't seem to be related to resolution or quality settings. I'm on Win2K, BTW.

Yeah, those areas crawled to a halt. I thought my system frozed. I noticed the intro cutscene was choppy too!

Yes you're right, the intro had some chopppyness too. I forgot about that.
I think the lag in the pit is very bizarre, because there's nothing but walls. Looks like someone is wasting a lot of resources on handling invisible stuff. In general the game runs very smooth though, so it may just be a map problem.

But did you notice in the room where you get the potion, there are those fog lights from the sky? That area mnade my system crawl. If I look at the floor and try to fight, smooth!

Looking at the floor and fighting is a very advanced and difficult way to fight...

May the force be with you

Hey guys! Ritual Entertainment acknowledges there is a problem and used my "fix":

YAY! Hopefully, they can fix the slow down problem! Please use this thread: http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum4/HTML/004546.html for the discussion. Let's close this thread (we don't need two threads about Alice and G400).
