    Q2 and ref GL problems

    Greetings all,
When I install patch 3.20, the Q2 ref gl size changes from 209kb to 229kb and my G400 with driver 6.50/ 6.23/ 6.10 freezes on loading the game. If I replace the ref gl with the 3.05 ref gl size 209kb, everything is fine.
    Whats going on here?

      Sorry-
      P3 500, Asus P3BF, 256 RAM, G400DH 32M, MX300 sound
      PD 6.50
      Win ME
The Q2 is 4 disc set with two mission packs and a net extremeties CD with patch 3.20.
The Q2 CD is 3.05 and the two ref gl files are dated 1997 and 1998 for the 3.05 and 3.20 versions respectively.

Are there any conflicts with your interrupts? I don't have problems with 3.20. Remove autoexec.cfg (if there is one) and config.cfg from your baseq2 directory. Then start and switch to OpenGL within Quake2. Does it freeze again?

Sorry mirp-no such entries and I'm still frozen.
PS-I see you are in Lubeck. I have some family there and visited in 88-absolutely beautiful place.
          Cheers

Thanks all-seem to have found the problem.
BTW-no open GL-I think you are referring to a Turbo Gl installation with older drivers? Been down that gory path before thanks.
It seems that it is an issue with my Virtual Drive software and the installation/ launch order after installation of the various mods etc. Seems that i have to run everything at least once with the original CD after installation before I can use my Virtual Drive-not the first of many quirks i have had with this program.
Anyway, holding thunbs that it keeps working and thanks again.

Do you have an OpenGL32.dll in your Quake folder ?

If so, rename or delete it and try again.
