    HL BlueShift v G400

Hope there is someone who might be able to solve this problem.
Got me a copy of BlueShift but i can't get it to run with my G400 card. I read that some G400 users might have problems getting the game to run. I have all of the latest drivers also running on Win98 SE, with DX 8.0.

    Worked fine for me.

Win Me, Latest drivers etc, G400

Its VERY short though. I feel a bit ripped off. Only took about 2 hours to finish.

      IsoTycoon,

      Can you be more specific?
I had no trouble with Half-Life Blue Shift....
other then the downside mentioned by Ali.

p.s. I use WinME and the latest 6.51.012 drivers.

I get into the settings in BlueShift, but when i try to start a new game, it hangs. Never had this type of problems before. Can it be DirectX 8 problems?
Or can it be Mainboard related?

This probably wont solve your problem but for starters....if I remember correct, the G400 likes to use IRQ 11 or higher. Also, try to prevent other devices from sharing IRQ's with the card. Sometimes that can cause problems. Also, have you updated your drivers? and your BIOS? What about your via drivers? Have you lowered your AGP speed to 1x? Also, another trick is to lower the acceleration settings in display properties by one notch and try again.

His IRQ's look fine to me. 9 or higher is the general rule, so 9 is alright.

Are you using a USB game controller or mouse?

I've got a G400 and BlueShift worked with mine, but the display died everytime I changed video modes (like to the save screen and back).
Of course, it might have something to do with it coming from a downloaded RAR file....

Well other than the nics and sound card being different we basically have the same machine. It maybe a game bug, but from what I gather by the others reporting, this may not be the case.

altho... what AMD AGP driver are you using?

goto System Properties/Device Manager/System Devices, select AMD-751 AGP Host to PCI Bridge and then click on Properties. On the properties page click on the Driver tab and tell me what the date is.
