    Doom III with DM?

The way Carmack designed the Doom III engine's use of bumpmaps should make it quite easy for him to switch to displacement mapping.

What do you think, will Doom III use Parhelia's displacement mapping?

Yes!! It's obvious: Doom == DM

No, why bother? Bumpmaps are good enough.

well, he said that truform would ruin the shadow calculations, so i don“t think we will see any HOS(high order surfaces) in doom3.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

I don't know if we'll see it. Carmack tends to be a strict OpenGL coder (which I think is great), and I'd be really surprised if Matrox coded up an OpenGL Extension for DM.
