i think you need half life with the counterstrike 1.5 mod. once you got halflife, the counterstrike mod is free. you need a valid key to play online.

aye, but I am struggling to find the counterstrike 1.5 server. Valve seems to have pulled it.

There must be a copy of the mod and dedicated server floating about...
