Try Unreal... there you still have the music & the frozen intro screen (no flyby) ...

      Hi there Jorden

Well, at least Unreal works fine for me (patched to 225f). D3d vertex lighting is now working with these drivers (with 4.51 if I enable vertex lighting some polygons just turn randomly black), performance is about the same (22 fps 800x600x16, all options on except -use 3dfx, - use multitexturing and - trilinear). Strangly enough it even works flawless in OpenGl mode, with all option on, but it runs at about 10 fps...

It could also be a DX6.x related problem...

I wonder if this is related to whatever QuakeWorld's problem is. That locks my computer up much the same way. GlQuake runs for me, but I get some really ugly tints in textures.

Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Wombat: Hexen II is based in the Quake engine... so yes, that could be the problem.
