half life console

please can anyone tell me how to enable the console in single player half-life. I tried the right click on short cut to no avail. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....thanx, larry

Change the command line you use to run the game to:
hl.exe -console
Then your ~ key will bring down the console in SP or MP.

I also like to add -dev for fun. HL gets pretty interesting in 3rd person

I don't think you need dev mode on for 3rd person. Just type /thirdperson in on the console. Dev mode is interesting though because you get to see everything that the game is doing while loading up a map.

I never tried 3rd w/o dev, it might work. But the god and fly codes definitely won't. Also, I'm not sure about the model changes.
