Well, there seems to be an AS/400 client now, so if that's what it's running...

I agree on the job-thingie though. This might be a case where explicit authorization wouldn't hurt

Well, it's running MVS, but I've seen that IBM have made a Linux distrib for mainframes, so if ever my company decides to try that out I'll be shouting my head off and waving a HUGE flag saying : 'I've got the perfect stress test here!'
