Just a little thought, but how's about a MURC loyalty scheme?

Just a little way of keeping our crunchers with us! I think the stats are great and the forum too, that's the reason I'm still here - the competition with TA is good too.

However, many people don't seem to realise how much we'll miss them! Is there any way possible to email people who join the team? SteveC/Ant? A little promotion in this area could do great things for us - we're not far off making an assault on TA so - can you help us? (though thanks for the current work you've been doing Ant!)

    Paul.

Edit: a little errata in the new sig

I have asked SteveC the same Q. many times before! Maybe if someone would write the suff so he would just have to forward it to the new members!?! Also a mail to all inactive members incouraging them to start crunching again would be nice.

BTW Pace! What's my account name?

Ok Steve, just got your mail.

I've stopped crunching for SETI for almost one year now, I did that because I felt that the seti client was absolutely a wast of time for my Athlon CPU. 9 hours to crunch one WU when a similar PIII did it in 3 hours??? No way! I did get my CPU some better code to crunch (in this case RC5).

Your mail made me think a little, and I decided to give you (us) a seconde chance because I've heard the new v.3 client does give better results on Athlons!
So here is the deal, if this client can crunch a WU in about 3 hours on my Athlon 750, then I'm in with you, if not I gonna go back to RC5 64.

                    A fellow MURCER, Vlip

Steve: Thanks for your email, I see you've noticed the little blunder! Stay tuned for a mail from me!

It appeats it's had an immediate effect anyway...

Vlip: Well glad you're giving us a chance Vlip! I'm not sure you'll make the 3 hour mark but the version 2 gap should be cut anyway - 3 times the time is a little too big methinks!

Maybe some of our Athlon friends could help here...

                      Paul.

Under 3:00 per wu is very unlikely for Athlons(classic anyway). My 1.1gh classic can do 3:15 - 3:30 occasionaly, but the average is around 4:00. Maybe TBird's can possibly do sub 3:00. With CLI 2.4, my athlons never could do sub 5:00. We are talking 1 to 2 additional workunits per day: significant improvement in my opinion.

So, let me get this right..?

CLI 2.4 is faster than cli 3.0 ?

                            eh?
