            Definitely slower. I'll need a few days to figure out how much slower. Maybe this will finally speed up berkeley's data server

                  I've done my first workunits with the new cmd-3.03.
                  They are at average using 72% longer time, or production is down 42%. This should be good news for Berkeley's swamped seti@home-connection.

                  I've only done high angle-range-units, to get results faster, and compared to the old average for this kinds of units. For normal and low angle-range, I haven't done any wu yet.

                  It will be interesting to see if low angle-range units (angle-range < 0,1) is faster, since with cmd-3.00 this was really slow wu, slower than doing the same wu in gui-3.00

                    72% longer wu times?

                    Haha, those guys can kiss my ass before let my average time go to shit.

                    Hopefully, they wont force us to go 3.03 any time soon. I am just going to let my machines crunch over break. They better accept them

                      My first unit using setiathome-3.03.i386-winnt-cmdline.exe
                      P!!!650@900 | 256MB PC133@138 CAS222 | AOpen AX6BC | WinME

                      From state.sah:

                      cpu=34080.940000 ~ 9.46 hours (9 hours 28 minutes)
                      prog=0.83915776

                      Estimated time ~ 11.28 hours (11 hours 16 minutes)

                      The last bunch if WU's done in 3.0 average about 3 hours 20 minutes

                      I'm not going to use 3.03 before they make me, i.e. I can't send the units back!)

                      /Daniel

                        Unbelievable!

                        People actually getting upset that ALL users are finally going to be crunching units on the same basis -- no more of those old version 1 speedsters crunching in 30 mins!

                        I hope they make 3.03 mandatory ASAP.

                          Nothing about this is unbelievable. This same talk goes on every time there is a new version out. Get used to it. Life goes on.

                            3.0 CLI with low angle range WUs give me the best times, 3:30. 1.06 actually gave me 8hr WU times.
