    What project is everyone running???

I just changed my last PC running SETI ( after reaching 10K ) over to G@H and checked where everone stands; and found that only 14 people are posting to the team . So I'm wondering were everbody is, and what they are running. A little competion would be more fun than crunching alone. While haveing the second biggest output might look nice . It's just not as much fun.

    Thanx for the 411

p.s. - OK so what is DF and were??

here too, a shame most of my boxes keep being claimed back by my ITS department

we need to start a "Help SETI users see the light" group and get them all onto something more practical, like folding, which might actually yield results!
Look, I know you think the world of me, that's understandable, you're only human, but it's not nice to call somebody "Vain"!

What are you saying?!? That Seti@Home might not be all that practical? I wonder how difficult it would be for them to switch to some more "useful" research, maybe trying to detect near Earth asteroids or something like that.

It's so lonelly at the bottom

How many units are people contributing per day?

I'm way too lazy ; as I haven't put any effort into figuring it out, I need Martin to make a 'seti.matroxusers.com/df' page to know how I'm doing .

So far I have one PC running DF as a servise. I'm giveing it a test drive and then will see about droping some more over from G@H.

One more question - It was said in a post about moveing MURC to DF from G@H that we didn't want to start from the bottom in F@H; so why would we have had to switch? Couldn't we have stayed with G@H?

Could have stayed but many people were discontent and I jumped to DF from Seti when their servers kept going down even after they had bought their new 100mbit bandwidth. I asked and people suggested DF.

As for being lazy, 9 out of ten of my machines haven't required a bit of intervention since I started them and I am always on the other. You can set up the text client on Win2K and XP machines so that you never need to adjust it. It autoupdates and stays out of the way.

Not a whole lot of us left though.
