Maggi: Thanks, I must have missed that option...

I really would like to put my dual Xeon (2.4 GHz) at home to work, if for no other reason than to pass Umfriend. Serves him right for challenging me.

Do that, and I'll see if I can get it to run on the 4 machines my sister has. They're for her business, but if tempted enough, I might just ask (yeah, somewhat hesitant).

My wife called the bank this morning to block all accounts.....almost got rid of all my savings and blow y'all out of the sky LOL.

It is somewhat annoying, although good for the team, so I _am_ glad, to see Maggi's last 10 trickles being made in, what?, 5 hours? against my 2 weeks mfg:

Guys, we ned just 8 more maggi's and we'll get to #1.

BTW, I'm currently averaging 230... So I think even without my computer at home there is a chance I'll pass you soon...

Slightly off topic: does the climate-prediction take into account the influence of a large number of computers crunching away?

I think the answer to that was in the original (pre-BOINC) project FAQ IIRC Might well still be there...

Well, Maggi has now officially (tm) taken 1st place from me in the MU team (this is if I exclude the random extra 7033 cobblestones I got)

Well done - not long until it happens on the actual leaderboard as well I guess... hmmm now where can I get my hands on an extra 10 dual opteron rigs?

anybody noticed that we're close to entering the Top100 ?

                    Btw, Gnep ...

                    in "Your Account"
                    goto "Computers" > "View"
click on your suspect "Computer ID"
under the "location drop down" box is a link to "Merge this Computer"
that will generate a list of computers with identical hardware setups that you could merge and maybe that will correct your false result count ?

BTW, has anyone noticed whether CPU's get hot while running this? It seems to me that although the CPU usage as per Task Manager is 100%, it does not run hot at all..?

Mine (at work) is at 60°C, normal temperature is in the low 50s (50°C-54°C). So, yes, I do see a difference in temperature.

I don't know yet what it will give at home, I'll try later on to see if I can just copy BOINC from one PC to another and expect it to run. The second test will then be if I copy back to a connected PC, whether or not it will upload the calculated data.
(edit: rats, I won't be able to try it tonight)

One Q: Can I have different PC's using different preferences? I think they say that all use the same, even though you can define different preferences...
