Last time I took that test I scored 200. But I don't think the results are particularly valid, since the last paper test I took scored me substantially closer to 180.

For me, the worst part about taking this kind of test is coming upon questions which could go either way, depending upon whether the test makers are trying to trick the test taker or not. The glove question comes to mind. Are they counting thumbs as fingers? Who knows? The logic of syntax would allow for either interpretation sometimes, but are they being that exact? I think people who write IQ tests should have to be the smartest people out there, or the tests themselves must of course be less valid.

KvH, funny you mention that question becuase my trouble was not about if they are including thumbs or not, but rather if I could visualize it in my mind. For some reason I kept on questioning my answer. I finally agreed that it would be the opposite hand in reverse.

OK, the people who wrote this test screwed it up, cheated, or whatever you want to call it. I say they were plain stupid and did not know how to use the English language correctly.
The correct answer to the following question (4) on the test:
The word "perfume" is spelled by using the first letters in the following sentence:
"Pigs eat really filthy uncooked meat eagerly."
is, of course, FALSE!... the first letters in the sentence are, of course, PIGSEATREALLY. I answered the question correctly, as it was phrased. The answer they give is "true", however. These dumbasses need to ask the right question if they want the right answer.

The other question they scored wrong for me was the one previously mentioned. Namely, "Five gloves and three shoes normally hold thirty five fingers and toes." their answer was "false". It could just as easily have been "true" if, as I did, the test taker is trying to answer the question asked, and isn't trying to second-guess the question the fools who have written the test are trying to ask.

I therefore declare this test to be invalid, since the testmakers are idiots and just want your ten bucks.

This just shows what an inexact science these sorts of tests are. The quantifications they attempt are necessarily inexact, even if the questionable questions are removed. And the age thing is given far too much weight here. Computational speed is given almost none. For instance, if any of the adults here had taken this test in one minute, they would have garnered an whole 5 points extra for their work than if they had taken the entire 13 minutes. If you happen to be 15 years old, though, you get a 7 point bonus over someone who is 16 or older. In fact, a 16 year old is scored exactly the same as a 98 year old. How pathetically random can you get? This is how IQ tests have been for years, though. One thinks they would have been refined a bit, and examined by people who are a bit smarter.

(btw, Gurm.. there's no way you could have scored 200 on this.. unless you are under 16, that is )

Ah, well.. take heart if these people claim you are less smart than you thought. They aren't that smart themselves
