Where were you exactly, and what were you doing when your Matrox card arrived?

When I got my Matrox G400 card, I was out drinking with friends in South Korea. I had the postman deliver it to me. Anyway, I was slightly wasted at the time, and I remember standing up on the bar counter holding my Matrox G400 box and shouting, "YEAH BABY!!! This is what IT'S ALL ABOUT!! HELL YA!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hehehe... that sure was fun. I'm sure all the Koreans in the place there were thinking the same thing, "What a damn crazy American." I know my girlfriends and my other friends were kinda impressed that I got a "Matrox, that card that looks good." LOL, that's a way to put it, "looks good."

AHHHHH, memories....

So anyway, what were you doing the moment your Matrox arrived in the mail or by postman, or maybe you went and bought it from a store, it doesn't matter. What where you thinking at that EXACT moment in time you FIRST laid your hands on the Matrox Box. I'm just curious.

Ps... Jorden and Bixler(and anyone else that helped me out in that Monstrous Thread), maybe that's why I had trouble with the card... I tried to install the thing while slightly... uhhh... under the influence shall we say? ;D Heh heh heh... I just couldn't wait till the next day to install the thing...

I remember the day well. I was standing at the counter of a computer shop. I gave the man behind the counter some money and he gave me a G400. I think I'm going to cry now...

Well, I stepped into the shop, I grabbed the G400, went to the counter and five minutes later, my wallet was about $300 thinner.
I didn't eat for a week, but I got my G400

I went to the shop, bought the G400, went back to my room, ripped out the TNT2/U sitting in it, and I still think the G400 is in the pc... at least, if it didn't run away when I wasn't looking. Maybe I should check?

i was at work and calling every few days to matrox store..... it will be another 2weeks before we will ship yours but it will be in the next group to go out......

i get off work walkin the door and sitting in my chair is a box from matrox, i jumped up and down i could not beleave it i was all set for a two week or longer wait... wowo

I have to admit, I knew very little about Matrox when I bought my computer (ABS - it was an option along w/some Voodoo card) but thought "that dual-head thing might be kinda cool".

To this day, I still haven't used the DH (but still think the idea is pretty cool ).

Anyway, I was tracking my computer thru FedEx tracking and when I saw it was delivered, I called my gf (I had it delivered to her store) and sang "My computer is there!" over and over. She had only signed for the 4 (!) boxes 2 minutes earlier (the FedEx guy was still there, too).

It took me about 5 minutes to log out from work and run home to play!

THAT is what the internet was created for!

I have no idea what I was doing, I just remember ordering one retail G400 DH 32Mb from some internet mailorder computershop, because local shops didn't offer G400's, and might I add any other Matrox cards. Of course they didn't have retail versions, despite the fact that their webpage showed they had them in stock, so the mailman delivered an OEM version. Replaced the G200 with it and never had any problems.

Well I had just gotten $100 from my sister, my parents had said they'd give me about $270 for, some other card, I think the V770 or something, but I really wanted this one, DH just looked too cool, I asked a friend of mine who usually came over to play games if I could borrow some money, he gave me $20 and told me to keep it if it meant getting it, I kept it, got my parents to give me $300, so I had $420, got that weeks pocket money and an extra $5 and finally had the $444 it cost, we drove for an hour to the store that had it, sat down in the chair you sit in when buying stuff and asked to pick up my order, I drove with it, holding the box in my hands for the hour trip home, reading the booklet and reading the back of the box over and over, I couldn't wait to see this EMBM stuff that I didn't know existed. Haven't looked back since... although the Ge 2 MX looks ok.
