It's OVER, people. Al Gore... well... LOST. The supreme court gave him the ultimate judicial bitch-slap. Now he, and all the rest of Clinton's cronies, are gone. THANK GOD.

Will GWB be a good president? *shrug* Who knows. Will he be better than Billy-Boy? Ohhh yeah.

And before someone starts in on the economy, let me point out that many leading financial analysts believe that it is the follow through of Reaganomics that put our economy back on track, not anything idiot-blowjob-boy did.

I have to agree with Buuri. Clinton might have been lacking in personal morals, but he got the job done and he got them done well. Bush on the other hand has impressed very few people with his intellect, he might be just a figure head but I think a chimp in a suit would do a better job. I not siding republican or democratic here I just care that we have someone with some ability in the oval office

Presidential candidates have to raise their own money for their campaigns. They don't just get freebie tax dollars. The US gov't didn't just decide to just write GWB a check for $30000000000 for his campaign. The Republican National Committee (not a gov't group, but just a bunch of republicans) sends out fundraising letters to people to raise this money, amongst other things.

There is the issue of "federal matching dollars", which crudely is that the US gov't will give you matching $ for what you raise in your campaign if you get 5% of the vote. There are other requirements too, and oddly enough I think that GWB does NOT qualify for federal matching $.

Also, whenever US citizens are sending in their tax forms, they have an option whether they want a portion of their tax dollars to go to the federal matching funds. A lot of people don't want to. That's why it has increased from $1 to $3 in the past 5 years or so.

If GWB wants to spend $30000000000000 on his campaign, let him spend it. He should be able to do whatever he wants to with his money. He should manage it well in the eyes of his campaign contributors, though.

But when they start destroying government (read taxpayer) property with their childish pranks, they should be held responsible who ever they are.

Himself, not all keyboards have keycaps that can be simply plugged back in. Some do, but a lot of the newer ones these days don't. Rip the W off of your keyboard and see for yourself, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Thoughts:

1. Who is the most popular president in the last 50 years? JFK! Did JFK ever make a decision without his daddy's approval? NO! So don't start on Bush for that.

2. As for Clinton's "success", I honestly think that those things had NOTHING to do with his ability as president. Like I said, the economy works on the substantially longer-term. You can't "fix" it in 4 years. We're seeing the fallout of the late 80's right now. We won't know how Clinton's policies are working until 2005 at least, and if the past few months are any indicator... HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS!

3. Yeah, I like blow-jobs as much as the next guy. But not from chubby, moustachioed, beret-wearing UGH-ly girls.

Bush is in some ways and tendencies slightly medieval (ie. abortions are evil...) whereas Gore at least knows something about ecology (he wrote a book about Earth I think) and helped to widespread the internet (as the Bushpeople [those who support Bush, not those who live in bushes] like to quote "he invented internet").
