My company just hired some folks who were contractors. They had worked for many companies during their contract work, including Intel. However, one of them doesn't think too highly of Intel, and he said "I wouldn't let my dog work for Intel".

Our design center has lost some guys to Intel before, but we haven't lost anybody to Intel for several years now.

Be careful. Don't make any hasty decisions. Would you be relocating if you took the job?

No relocation for this position. The offer wasn't that impressive to start with so I will negotiate a bit before I make a final decision.

Hmmm... Process Integration... From where I come from, that's the group that verifies one device (out of millions made) from R&D is functional. Then they 'throw the design over the wall to Production' and say, "Here you go. Let's ramp it".

That's what I've been doing for the past 7 years. I'm currently working in our CMOS Technology group.

We're given a new product. We then must get together with the Design Group and work out the details for the Mask Set. Then, I write a Process Flow for fabrication. I submit the Lot Start requests and then when Integration issues arise I write Short-Loop flows to fix the processing problems for the products.

BTW - I'm working as a "Piece of Shit Contractor" now...LOL

It would be Great to be a "Real Employee" for a change.

Hehe. Sounds like you do more work than our Integration group.
Where do you get your Photomasks from? Dupont or Photronics?
I worked at Dupont Photomask for about 13yrs before changing careers.
