                Yeah - fat has been used here to describe cool things too (I guess it's yet another americanism). Also you can get phat (or fat) Bass for example.

                But fat usually does just mean fat.

                        FYI the word phat was invented in Jamaica around 1980 or so, originally used to describe women. American blacks took it on and it spread. It basically meant fat but was spelt phat so as not to confuse the meaning. Afterwards people started to ascribe meaning to each of the letters blah blah blah. By the way I kid you not.
