I have never had any stabilety issues with any of my VIA chipset motherboards.... No problems with ASUS A7V (VIA KT133) and no problems with ASUS A7V266 (VIA KT266)
The BIGEST stabilety problem I have seen was a computer at work with Intel 815 chipset & Pentium IIIComment

You should tell your friends at work that you shouldn't have to cut any pins off the bottom of the Chip to get it to fit into the board.

There are better boards than Asus, but there are certainly a whole slew worse. Asus BX boards were the bomb.
