                and sparks began to fly from the keyboard and mouse. Mike kicked out reflexively, causing the cat to become airborne. In an improbable reversal of fortune, the cat, noting its inevitable meeting with the now-on-fire keyboard, managed to right itself, steer clear, and land on the rug instead - at which point it scampered under the bed and stayed there.
