Hmmm, RSN technology has the ability to provide all of our earthly desires. With that enabled, the Parhelia would be worth twice what they're asking.
Unfortunately, from earlier threads on this forum, it seems that the RSN chip was removed from production boards.........
Archeon: RSN refers to "Real Soon Now (tm)". This is the standard response given by Matrox PR if they're asked when their next product will be released........
All kidding aside - there is no such thing as the RSN chip. RSN was pretty much dreamed up on the forums around the time the G550 was about to be released (if I remember correctly).
I'd forgotten about the "Render Subject Nude" version - that's certainly worth something, but there are already nude patches for Tomb Raider and Noone Lives Forever. I'm damned if I want to see Duke Nukem nude........
But what's was the chip for on the beta samples of the card then? (I remember seeing it on a pic). I've noticed that this chip is now gone on the final release boards.
You know, the big one that was placed directly above the Parhelia GPU.
Archeon> That we'll probably never know... Matrox is very strict in regards to features not implemented...
Like we'll probably never know the full specs and features of the G800, my guess is we'll never know what that chip was for...
Not unless someone would like to pay the damages Matrox would claim if someone told us, and quite a lot more, since the guy'd either be out of work, or loose his BB job...
