5 persons shot in random drive-by shootings in a Maryland suburb just outside of Washington DC;

Now for my first thought:

Some time ago documents were found in an Afghan cave alluding to plans by al Quaeda to do driveby shootings and school takeovers in the US as part of their overall plan.

Sure hope this isn't the manifestation of those plans....

The thing about this is that there are no leads as to whom may have been at the bottom of all this.

It could be anybody! That is scary in itself.

The place I am doing work for suddenly and abruptly brought all the kids inside from recess because the police called them as a warning. We are right next to Mongommery County. We couldn't figure out why sister (It's a Catholic school) was ringing the bell they use to bring everyone back early.

This person should be covered in barbecue sauce, tied up in a bag with some fire ants and dropped off a cliff.

Word is it's two suspects in an Isusu delivery van (white with a damaged back gate).

All these one-shot kills sounds like either a high powered rifle, the perp being an excellent shot or both.

There is also word of a 6th incident that could be related where a Michaels craft stores window was shot out just before the shootings started.

Of course there is also the guy who was shooting up the UN today

Doesn't sound like any gang or mafia type stuff you'd see in the US.

The Mafia does killings to make a statement about the victim and it's often done close up so the victim knows who is doing him. These were done from a distance.

Gang-bangers also operate differently in that they typically spray an area with fire, often getting innocents and intended victims alike. Narrow targeting with one-shot kills isn't their style.

Investigators are also stating there are no connections between the victims. One gal was vacuuming out her car; one man was mowing his lawn; one man was exiting a party store after buying a lotto ticket etc. Different sexes, different ethnicities, different ages.....

This one is out of the box.

Maybe some youngster going off again. You know, those types that always play the sniper in CS (sorry, that was a bad joke, but maybe it really was a boy who had problems and decided to make someone pay.)

Do you think that people who are emotionally unstable like ****ed up youngsters do stuff like this? Don't they usually do stuff to get as much attention as possible (and often shooting themselves in the end), which the people who committed these acts seem to try to avoid as much as possible?

Sounds more like people trying to undermind the morality(?) of the average citizen... just like 9-11
