I have now found I can get news quicker and more reliably here, than anywhere else (news that matters, anyway) thanks mostly to Dr. M and various other posters here!

Nope. Using the VideoServer plugin to frameserve either MSPro or my RT.X100/Premiere 6.5 to an external encoder like TMPGEnc Plus, MainConcept MPEG standalone or VirtualDUB. I'm also working on a way to do a double frameserve;
MSPro or Premiere timeline => VirtualDUB => external encoder => HDD.
