    Burning junk to CD!

    Its time!
    I have hoarded to much junk on my HDD's and have to burn!

    Modern time junk burning!

    Files to CD-R

    about 30 GB
    If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

    30gb? Hmm, that would take me about 20 hours to backup, boooooooring. hehe.

          a 24 gig DAT drive would do it in a few hours and they arent that expensive either

          grabbed mine on Ebay for under a $100
          Better to let one think you are a fool, than speak and prove it

                I think my time is worth more than that.

                30Gigs = around 40 CDs = >200 minutes to sitting near the computer, changing and authoring the CDs.

                That's over 3 hours with a fast burner.

                Why not get a spare 80GB (~80$) HDD for backup ?

                  Because I can get 50 cd's for 20$
                  A spare 80 hdd is atleast 150$ and twice for a FireWire one

                            This is the point at which I'd question just how much of that stuff I really need to save.

                            'Course, I usually burn stuff disk by disk whenever I get enough to fill a disk, so my drive never gets that packed.

                            I can't talk. God only knows how many burned disks I have laying around here!
