Dammit! Excruciating is what this is getting... Who made that comment a while ago about M nestling a crazy demo running "a Matrox video card" in the Video Group's booth? Are we talking about a similar idea at GDC?

Oh, no! They are going to use the Matrox Mind Trick!!!

Matrox @ GDC: This is not the Parhelia you are looking for.

GDC Attendees: This is not the Parhelia we are looking for.

Matrox: You will all buy the Parhelia when it comes out.

GDC: We will all buy the Parhelia when it comes out.

Matrox: But you have never seen one in action before...

No at GDC one of the Matrox crew is giving a talk on displacement mapping. Now at last years GDC there was a similar talk with a demo of displacemnet mapping running on a G550, very very slowly. Expect this year if you are attentding to see a demo running very, very fast on something or other.

GDC is right in Helevitia's backyard. Maybe he can spy for us.

I actually considered going at one point but since I don't have money falling off my money tree I decided against it. I would love to go though. Maybe I can buy cheap tickets on ebay or something. I'd pay $50 bucks to go.

And technically, it's T-minus 8 days until Matrox gives its two classes at GDC. If anything is going to be said at GDC about the Parhelia, it will probably be done then. I doubt we'll hear anything though. But who knows...maybe I'll be eating my words in 8 days.

                        Now

                        It's onlt 4 days left...

You guys, this is getting closer then Soon(tm).

But, i doubt that our-next-gen-card-with-really-really-wopping-speed will be announced then.

Well, I have gotten my first job ever, so I've got money to burn... Plz Matrox, let me burn it on a new card from M.

You think it will be sold at shop.matrox.com? It sure is a long way for Matrox homeland to my retailers here in Sweden.

                          They overclocked a G550 ?
                          AARRRGGHHHH !

Anybody knows how long before launch Nasa starts counting down to a launch ? The site http://163.205.10.51/shuttle/countdown/cdt/ makes me think they start counting down at T-100 days, perhaps this is also the countdown Haig is using ?

But I don't really believe they release any new info on GDC.

                                just 3 points:

                                1. the announcement day of the G400 was 16. March 1999, so happy birthday

                                2. the first public show of the G400 was at the GDC

                                3. we have spring 2002 and Matrox isn´t the "king of 3D" yet
