If the countdown would simply be done in hours as opposed to days, no one would have a prob.

But whose hours do we count down/up from?

From dZeus in the NL? He started it all. GMT? EST where Matrox is...?

              U silly

We count down till the hour of the announcement, all we need to know is what date, what time and where that'll be, and the counter will be the same for everyone. It's a countdown, remember, not a countup.

Assuming of course we are not travelling in opposite directions and that there are no very heavy objects between us......

Can't remember exactly, but provided we move fast enough an dit takes a little while before we get there, one will get there first due to the direction of movement.

Well, NY gets sun before LA so whoever's going in the direction LA-NY-London-Budapest-Seoul will have a lot less flying to do than someone going the other direction.

ACtually they dont need to be that heavy. They could just be moving real fast!. Heavy AND fast, that would be a stopper - so to speak...

                          Uhuh, like at 19.2GB/s?

Maybe Parhelia will cause it's announcement to be at different times for us (times as in "moment in time", not time-zone related stuuf)

Just trying to stay on-topic a bit.....

What if the object was not heavy, stayed in the same place but turned like hell?

Even IF we knew the exact time and place, we still couldn't count down unless we standardized on a time zone. People at GMT will have a different countdown than people in EST. I say we use EST, since that's where Matrox is. If they call a press conference the time will be in EST. Just a thought.
