    Ant cannot be cencored.
    They cannot pull his posts.
This is his site, his forums.
"They" have no control over what goes on here.

if pixel shader 2 is not hardware present then my parhelia will be going back to matrox, not because i will make use of it anytime soon but because they told me lies and i do not give money to people who lie about products. hopefully the dx9 diver will prove this rumour wrong

the parhelia was never intended to have pixelshader 2.0, but it should have vertexshader 2.0, 64 tap anisotropic filtering, and displacement mapping.

            Kruzin,

Why did those posts get pulled then?

            They HAVE censored him.

They censored him via constricting what others can and can't post. Welcome to copyright and intellectual property laws. Nobody has control of their site no matter what they think.

maybe vigilant deleted the posts himself, because some of his friends could get in trouble, if matrox found out who gave him the information...

maybe the information was covered by an NDA, or something like that.

Vigilant made those posts, and Vigilant pulled them.
                Vigilant is not Ant.
IF Vigilant was under NDA when he made those posts, then he violated that NDA, and those posts where subject to censorship by law.
                Ant is not under NDA.
Ant did not make those posts.
                Ant was not censored.

I know vigilant is not ant, and i didn´t say vigilant was under NDA.

And even if the information wasn´t covered by an NDA, it still contained information about internal problems at matrox, which could hurt them in the long run. all those rumors about matrox closing down originated from there, AFAIK.

I don´t really know enough about this, to form an opinion, so I will just shut up now.

If someone were to utter "Doom3 Alpha" I see forums get shut down.

MURC is able to survive these issues because?

What makes the MURC any different than any of hundreds of sites I have seen that get shut down because of saying something that they never got outside of public domain?

well, I can´t speak for others, but I think murc will survive because of the friendly relaxing atmosphere, and the members abilities to threat each other nicely, and take part in a discussion in a civilized manner.

this is one of the few forums where im not afraid to disagree with everyone else, because i know that if i word my post respectfully i would still get a nice and friendly discussion out of it.

I don´t know if you have given it any thought, but in the majority of forums i have seen, a tread that takes more than 3 pages is either a result of flaming or spamming or both.

In some forums a post like this would get deleted for being off-topic.

and about discussing "sensitive" topics; I don´t renember that particular thread about doom3, but if it contained a link to the leaked alpha, then it is considered illegal, and ant could actually get in trouble for not moderating that thread AFAIK, besides it is against the forum-rules.
I would say that the "politically-shutdown" of the soapbox was far more problematic, but we seem to have gotten trough it quite nicely

There have been several threads about the doom3alpha.
But we do not allow links to leaked or pirated software.
There is nothing illegal about talking about something we are not distributing, or under NDA for.

And lets not get into extreme exagerations and lies here.
You've seen "hundreds" of forums/sites shut down just for mentioning Doom3?

Had hoped to se something new from Matrox this fall. It does happen that MAtrox releases products in the fall to.

I dunno if I should start a new thread for this... but...

Should be count on Matrx to anounce a full DX9 part next year?

Or will it be another "upgrade" like from the G400 to the G550. If that's the case... ATI/nVIDIA here I come
