Note that China vas coached by one of the best coaches in the world: Serb Bora Milutinovic. Previously he coached Mexico (86), you (USA) (91-95), Nigeria (98) and China in 02. Except with China he made it in the 2nd round with all teams.

      The qualifications go like this:
32 teams, of which Europe, Asia, South America, Central and North America and Oceania have guaranteed spots.

China qualified in Asia. Firstly since Japan and Korea weren't in qualifications as they were hosts and qualified automatically, secondly since football isn't that big in asia, and thirdly they had one of best coaches in the world.

        Germany - Litauen: 1-1

Although the spanish referee did take away a perfectly legal goal from us (the counter-goal was about a mintue after that, so you can count this on the referee as well, if you like ), the german team still played crappy.
But we named the *dog* Indiana...

          Romania-Denmark 2-5

I was among the 65000 unfortunate souls present at the stadium...it would have been more comforting if they had really played well, but all they had to do was wait for our mistakes...
