When did GM buy Saab?
And Saabs are... ok. They're just weird, and the 93 (formerly known as the 900) seems to go horribly wrong at exactly 8 years of age, but they do seem to live forever if you can get them beyond that point.

My Volvo 242 had a ventilation fan that blew out every 3 months like clockwork.
Given that its motor was at least 3x undersized and built like one of those original cheapo tin-can style slot car motors that wasn't much of a suprise
What made it worse was that it took almost 3 hours to replace the damned thing. In most American cars the fan motor is mouted on the motor side of the firewall and takes about 10 minutes to replace....after about 10 years of use.

Well if it was an actual 242 then that's a pretty old model. They figured a lot of that stuff out, and frankly anything involving making the car COOLER is an afterthought. We're talking about a country where the WARMEST it ever gets is "roll down the windows honey it's above freezing!".
