@Brian & CW - I thought of that, but she's the main card holder!

Threatens to ask for divorce (and state that it's now a law) if she keeps focusing on shopping more than twice a year.

I had to get a bit for the computer the other weekend - so decided to take the bird along for a bit of "payback" for all the times I have had to suffer (and I mean really suffer) her going clothes and shoe shopping (and dragging me along).

Imagine my utter dispair and frustration when she pretented to enjoy it... (well, I have to assume it was pretending...) all those shops on Tottenham Court Road as well... Grrrrrrrrrr.

IKWYM about suffering. I only have to open the door to M&S and my entire body suddenly feels like it weighs twice as much, I feel drained, get headaches, bored, irritable...

I have at least mastered the art of taking the shortest route through the store while she zigzags everywhere around me, probably walking 5 times as far.

And don't get me started on shoe shops. Just the smell makes me il...

Yup. I found though that exagerating as much as possible how miserable you are when shopping (and it's not hard...) means the suggestion "Why don't I buy a paper and wait for you in the nearest pub" works on about the second or third attempt now. As long as I have my mobile ready to answer the inevitable "do you mind if I put this on the Joint Account?" question that will come along at some point or another...

For my part I already stated that I only would go shopping with my girl twice a year and that's including X-Mas, birthdays, etc...

.. and guess what, it works! Whenever she goes shopping she goes with a friend of her. Gives her time to catch up with her friends and it gives me time to catch up with my computer *grin_with_glee*
