I did a web search at some point.. I forget now when.
I had a Milennium, a mystique, a G200 and a G400 max. I actually never discovered the forums until somewhat recently, and joined after having lurced a bit

You know I can't remember I must be getting old. It may have been from a news group.

I ended up joining during the Big Parhelia Hype. For some reason I still read the forums daily, although I don't post much. When I post, I usually piss Gurm off

I was looking for specific information about the Matrox Marvel G200 along with the hardware decoder added on. Funnily enough, MURC was at the time the search which was listed in the top ten. The other sites were of no use, and here I was.

Though I didn't register to the boards till 2000.

In august 2000 I had bought this G400SH 16mb (with whole rest - and if it weren't for financial reasons I would be using G400DH 16mb at least, perhaps 32) knowing that if I'm finally getting a pc I would like to have a card with legendary 2d (thankfully at that time some magazines still wrote about Matrox in positive light). I was also tempted by EMBM (though it turned out to be not much of use).
I had found this place rather quick - september I guess. I'm not sure but I think it was because of link on the Matrox Guru Arena (MGA ), which is still there of course, although very recently this site had massive redesign (which I've spotted now). If you'll go there, check the Redaction. And don't look at those 32mb - I've been instant messaging to Nicram because of this many times, but it doesn't work apparently. Oh well, I have better card thanks to this
There's also slight possibilty that I heard of MURC because of normal web search.

edit: But as you can see I decided to join long after that.

I heard good things about the matrox marvel card so I was researching the card at the Matrox web site. Going through all the topics in their tech forum, Haig would once in a while point someone to these forums, so I came over to check things out. I learned alot from you guys and not just about video cards either. So I was a lurker for a while before I needed to join and ask questions of my own. Sadly I'm still more of a lurker than a poster, but the people here are awesome.

The first work I had, on my PC there was a Productiva G100.
I was on the Matrox Site, where I found the link to this place.

I think I found a link somewhere during the early days of the G800 hype/hope/rumours. But to be honest, I really don't remember. I was a lurker for a long time before I signed up.

Was havin bus mastering problems when I upgraded from my G100 to my G400MAX. A friend recommended that I post here. Rabs (or something close to that???) I think was the first to help me with it.

Stumbled across the place somehow (forget how exactly) when I was running a G450, having been impressed by the developers at my work then who were running dualhead. Lurked for a long while as another place to search on hints/tips etc.

Finally signed up when the P-hype was going on...
