How much do you pay for your internet connection

No idea.

My internet comes in a bundled pack with my cable and phone services, and PVR lease. It is supposed to be 256/256 Kbps, but I marked it last time at 2.2 Mbps download. All told it comes to about $ 100/mo.

They don't even have prices for cable modem service alone as you must have at least one of their other services to get it.


And the biggest benefit from the whole thing is -- I don't have to use Time Warner.

Former Work ~$90 for Comcast's second service. 3mb down 384 up.

Current Work ~$160 for Covad SDSL 384kbps - Comcast could not get the line put in without some serious cash outlay at the beginning due to having to bore under the pavement.

I don't know exactly. I have not checked in a while. It is more than fast enough for myself though.

Only setup probs that my account details weren't emailed to me when I signed up just the backup dialup. The techie I spoke to told me to use the wrong username and password. So I couldn't connect until I spoke to a friend next day at work who gave the web link to get my account details.

Apparently that doesn't apply to NYC. Broadband options here are shit unless you're lucky enough to be living in one of Cablevision's service areas. Their cable service is $49/month if you don't have their television service, and speeds are as high as 8mbps/1mbps. In my neighborhood, I have TWC for cable and Covad for DSL. Verizon (the local phone company) can't even provide DSL service to my house because my voice lines are running through fiber
