    wehaa, it's finally done

Started as a winter project, but it's finall done.
made from mostly 1" square tube (about 60 ft.)
    full suspension front and back.
5.5 hp honda motor good for about 45 moph (geared done to about 15mph for now)
gave me an excuse to teach my 8 yr old daughter to weld.

I built it for her, but I've had some fun with it too.

That's cool, especially admirable for your tackling the suspension. Congratulations.. hope you have a blast with it!

            Where's the 4-point harness?

It reminds me of the hotrod a friend of mine built way back when. The front clip of a Nova, The rear suspension of some Chrysler, 350 Chevy smallblock, and the body of a 32 Ford coupe. Nearly square wheelbase. That was one squirrelly car to drive!

Wow, I would have probably quit after I drew some specs and maybe got some foam

              Way to go!

                thanks for the acolades folks.
would have been a staright forward project except for the suspension.
double A arm in front with home made rack and pinion.
swing arm in rear - double reduction with idler gear at pivot point.
this was designed from scratch thanks to the modern marvels of CAD software.

Well done gt! Looking good. Which bit CAD software did you use? I haven't used any since my degree days - AutoCad and iDeas (I think - bit hazy on this one! ) on SGI Indystations.

Using MasterCam 9.1 at the moment, which I also used for creating toolpaths for machining some of the components.
I have used Autocad, but I find it a bit ackward.

                            no airbags?
                            no cruise control?
                            no leather seating?

                              Very nice!
So is that your daughters bike in the background?.. if so it would be quite the upgrade, little red bike with extra wheels on it to this
Where can you drive this thing, without the cops being all over you?
