    I can record the post count in the post table. however the user account only contains a total. there has been no recording of post count per post , so i can't recontruct data that doesn't exist.

    Well I could but that would be a massive operation on the db.

        Hmm, just a thought:

        the post itself has a reference to the poster. Wouldn't it be possible to add the integer to the post and fill it with the current postcount of the poster?

        That would result in adding one field to the post database and some lines in the php code.

        But maybe the database structure is completely different ....

            nope, thats more or less what I could do.

            Makeing it retroactive from the point I do it (if I do it) is harder.
