It was so bad from work I couldn't even access it to check out the server load. I would send emails to burst, but as its not broken right now, they would only take about 3 months to answer.

It was so slow yesterday evening that I think the site tried to suck data backwards up the downstream connection! I was beginning to wonder if there was a DoS attack going on against the site or something, I had never seen it run so slowly instead of just going off-line.

OK, the download speed seems quite variable from time to time. This suggests to me that either a) the server bandwidth is insufficient to cope with all the MURC traffic or b) the connection between the server and the Internet backbone cannot cope.

Question: what has changed over the past week or two?

It seems to be worse from 16:00 onwards and clears up around 18:30 although sometimes earlier. Perhaps our hosts think we're using too much bandwidth although I canunderstand why.

Remeber guys we are not the only ones on this server. I think there are anything up to another 30 websites here. So it may be completely unrelated

CATASTROPHICALLY slow over the past hour or so. It took exactly 179.33 seconds just for this page to appear.

There seems to be problems all over the net tonight. The outage yesterday was due to Burst's upstream haveing a router go up in smoke.

Sorry, Sasq, cannot go along with you for that as a reason, I've just downloaded about ten pages from other sites, hosted in several countries and not one took more than 30 secs, and that was a popular portal crammed with ads. Most of them took ~10 secs.

Sorry, for me there is something amiss with MURC.

Ah back on line again. Hopefully the problems were due to eventual failure off Bursts router.
