Incredibly depressing. If this were really true he would have started to stink pretty badly.

Some people tend to stink pretty badly alive

One person that visited my shop smelled like he had first been in a fight with several skunks and then had a bath in a couple of severs

this person would have reached stage 3 in the decompositon process - http://www.deathonline.net/decomposi...tion/index.htm

Bacteria break down tissues and cells, releasing fluids into body cavities. They often respire in the absence of oxygen and produce various gases including hydrogen sulphide, methane, cadaverine and putrescine as by-products
            Very stinky indeed!
Oh, and congrats on your .5K, Rakido

Heh.. they just featured this on a program about Urban Legends debunked on The Learning Channel. Same points were brought up.

BTW, another show, "Mythbusters" went to extreme ends to prove that there was no car too smelly to be cleaned up enough so that it could be sold. They took a 1987 Corvette, put a dead pig in each seat, sealed the car with packing tape, and locked it in a container for two months. They found a guy who cleaned up murder scenes and found out how he did it, and he was fairly confident that they could manage to get the car clean.

When they unlocked the container and unsealed the car though, it was so utterly foul that they almost passed out, even with respirator masks.. the car seats were soaked in nasty decomposed bodily fluids and had been partially dissolved somehow. Even the professional dead body cleanup guy said he had never seen a case that bad..

There was no way they could get the stench out of the car, but someone finally paid them $2000 for it. He bought it for the engine.
