How many time do you waste on journey daily?

I've had a rest this weekend finally and almost forgot about what pervades me...namely, the amount of time I have to waste daily for journey. First I get up early to catch train, then at least 1,5h of train ride, waiting for tram, half an hour in it...you get the picture. Plus of course late return (and waiting for train). It all means I can waste even between 7 and 8 hours daily...and I'm sick of it.
The best would be to move...too bad I'm unable to do this right now.
Here you have it, now show compassion and vote above so I can realise more precisely in how bad situation I am in comparison

3 minute walk from house to tube.

Couple of minutes max waiting for tube.

      20 minute tube journey.

The tube station at the work end is part of my office building so about 30seconds there...

I guess that makes <1hr daily

20 minutes in car to work.. same home. luckily I go the opposite way of most traffic when I commute in the morning.. North on Highway 400 is much nicer than south, which is usually at a standstill in the morning

I work about 5 blocks from here. In the car, about 2 minutes later I'm there.

My route can take 30 minutes to an hour and a half depending on the traffic and accidents, which happen quite a bit around here. Most people here don't know how to drive or don't know what our laws are., yet they live here!

atm about 2 hours in transit (1 hour each way).

end of the month I'm moving to central Tokyo so should be around about 15 mins each way.

My new job looks to be about 50 minutes each way.

I envy those on the train. My NYC friends have an hour commute each way to work, but they generally spend it reading.

Right now it's 35mins to an hour one way (44km). I'm planning on moving in a couple of months, should cut it down to under 15 min. I hope.
