Well, I went offline for a week with a "dodgy cable modem" (that was the final diagnosis). Now I'm back, and only getting about 3.5mbps, instead of the 4.5 I was getting before. *sigh*
If I had just had them replace the modem instead of screwing with the line, they never would have noticed how fast I was going.
